Rough book edit

Ok, I'm still editing photos from Acorn Community Farm in VA.  While I was in town for Festival of the Photograph I shot a project at the commune, where about 25 people live.  It's a self-sustaining, egalitarian community.  Here's a rough edit that I put into book form.  Still working on the edit for my website, and trying to decide if I can swing another trip back there...

More from the road trip

Getting settled in CA, and getting used to the weather out here.  I'm pretty sure I can take it, not that Detroit doesn't have lovely weather.  And the ocean...I am a fan.
Here's some more pics from my phone from the great road trip out here, in chronological order.

A hungry lamp post in Chicago

Gas station mascot, Nebraska
First day in CO - driving around Vail area

Two bridges, Red Cliff CO

Leadville, CO. I had to hunt down this field, because I remember stumbling across it on a trip as a kid.
Made friends with some cows.  They kept following me...

Along the roadside...

The amazing Arches National Park, UT
Rest stop, UT
Salt flats, UT

Rolled in to Reno, exhausted
Crossing the border from NV to CA
Finally made it to CA, so we got some wine and celebrated picnic style on the beach

Roadtrip to CA

I just finished a roadtrip from Detroit to CA, relocating me and some of my possessions to San Francisco.  I sent my main camera in for repair while I was on the road, so I had some fun shooting with my iphone.  I drove from Detroit to Chicago, where I stayed for a couple days. Then I drove through Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska to Vail.  I stayed in Vail for about five or six days, then drove through Utah to Salt Lake City, with a detour to Arches National Park.  Then I drove from Salt Lake City to Reno, then from Reno to San Jose.  I stayed with some pretty fantastic people and great photographers all along the way, and good times were had by all...

Here's a short series I shot out of my window.  More from the trip to come, but have to go unload Hans now and get my bike off the trunk.
