Outside Lands

So, good timing, I happened to move to San Francisco right before the coolest music festival of the year.  What a drag it would have been to come out here right after it finished and miss it all.  Outside Lands is this amazing 3-day music and art festival in Golden Gate Park.  The lineup was ridiculous, it's set in the park in the middle of all these delicious-smelling eucalyptus trees, and on top of all that they really focus on art and food.  There were tons of tents of local restaurants serving up their fancy, tasty fare, and local lunch trucks.  There were public art installations everywhere, and live painting happening.  A great festival, I'm looking forward to going next year.  I was super lucky to be able to shoot the festival for the San Francisco Chronicle.  Their gallery of images is here, and below are a few of my favorites.

Settling in in San Francisco

I've been in San Francisco a couple weeks now, and it's quite lovely.  I can't imagine ever leaving here.  I've started freelancing, mainly for the San Francisco Chronicle, and a little for msnbc.com.  Today the Chronicle ran a job I shot last night on their front page.  So far, so good.  Hopefully the work will continue, but for right now, I'm in San Francisco, and I'm happy. 

Here's a couple images from the job on the National Night Out against crime in Richmond last night.  Parts of Richmond are dealing with a serious upswing in homicides.
